ZonedDateTime minusWeeks() method in Java with Examples Last Updated : 10 Dec, 2018 Comments Improve Suggest changes Like Article Like Report minusWeeks() method of a ZonedDateTime class used to subtract the number of weeks from this ZonedDateTime and return a copy of ZonedDateTime after subtraction. This method operates on the local time-line, subtracts weeks to the local date-time and after subtracting weeks local date-time is converted back to a ZonedDateTime, using the zone ID to obtain the offset. When converting back to ZonedDateTime, if the local date-time is in an overlap, then the offset will be retained if possible, otherwise, the earlier offset will be used. This instance is immutable and unaffected by this method call. Syntax: public ZonedDateTime minusWeeks(long weeks) Parameters: This method accepts a single parameter weeks which represents the weeks to subtract, It can be negative. Return value: This method returns a ZonedDateTime based on this date-time with the weeks subtracted. Exception: This method throws DateTimeException if the result exceeds the supported date range. Below programs illustrate the minusWeeks() method: Program 1: Java // Java program to demonstrate // ZonedDateTime.minusWeeks() method import java.time.*; public class GFG { public static void main(String[] args) { // create a ZonedDateTime object ZonedDateTime zoneddatetime = ZonedDateTime.parse( "2018-12-06T19:21:12.123+05:30[Asia/Calcutta]"); // print instance System.out.println("ZonedDateTime before" + " subtracting weeks: " + zoneddatetime); // subtract 10 weeks ZonedDateTime returnvalue = zoneddatetime.minusWeeks(10); // print result System.out.println("ZonedDateTime after " + "subtracting 10 weeks: " + returnvalue); } } Output: ZonedDateTime before subtracting weeks: 2018-12-06T19:21:12.123+05:30[Asia/Calcutta] ZonedDateTime after subtracting 10 weeks: 2018-09-27T19:21:12.123+05:30[Asia/Calcutta] Program 2: Java // Java program to demonstrate // ZonedDateTime.minusWeeks() method import java.time.*; public class GFG { public static void main(String[] args) { // create a ZonedDateTime object ZonedDateTime zoneddatetime = ZonedDateTime.parse( "2018-10-25T23:12:31.123+02:00[Europe/Paris]"); // print instance System.out.println("ZonedDateTime before" + " subtracting weeks: " + zoneddatetime); // subtract 2 weeks ZonedDateTime returnvalue = zoneddatetime.minusWeeks(2); // print result System.out.println("ZonedDateTime after " + "subtracting 2 weeks: " + returnvalue); } } Output: ZonedDateTime before subtracting weeks: 2018-10-25T23:12:31.123+02:00[Europe/Paris] ZonedDateTime after subtracting 2 weeks: 2018-10-11T23:12:31.123+02:00[Europe/Paris] References: https://docs.oracle.com/javase/10/docs/api/java/time/ZonedDateTime.html#minusWeeks(long) Comment More infoAdvertise with us Next Article ZonedDateTime minusWeeks() method in Java with Examples A AmanSingh2210 Follow Improve Article Tags : Java Java-Functions Java-time package Java-ZonedDateTime Practice Tags : Java Similar Reads ZonedDateTime plusWeeks() method in Java with Examples plusWeeks() method of a ZonedDateTime class used to add the number of weeks in this ZonedDateTime and return a copy of ZonedDateTime after addition. This method operates on the local time-line, adds weeks to the local date-time and after adding weeks local date-time is converted back to a ZonedDateTi 2 min read ZonedDateTime minusYears() method in Java with Examples The minusYears() method of a ZonedDateTime class used to subtract the number of years from this ZonedDateTime and return a copy of ZonedDateTime after subtraction. This method operates on the local time-line, subtract years from the local date-time and after subtracting years local date-time is conve 2 min read ZonedDateTime minusDays() method in Java with Examples minusDays() method of a ZonedDateTime class used to subtract the number of specified days from this ZonedDateTime and return a copy of ZonedDateTime. This method subtracts no of days passed as a parameter from the local date-time and then it is converted back to a ZonedDateTime, using the zone ID to 2 min read ZonedDateTime minusSeconds() method in Java with Examples minusSeconds() method of a ZonedDateTime class used to subtract the number of seconds from this ZonedDateTime and return a copy of ZonedDateTime after subtraction. This method works on the instant time-line and subtracting one-second returns the time-line of one second earlier.
