Many developers worldwide believe that JavaScript is the number one programming language, especially in the case of web development. JavaScript works well for both front-end and back-end development. Thanks to the enormous variety of frameworks and libraries, making websites with JavaScript is now easier. Therefore, excellent knowledge of JavaScript frameworks is the key to being a web developer who can build fantastic websites.

Top-7-JavaScript-Frameworks-and-Libraries-to-For-Web-Development-in-2022

However, it can confuse the new developer in choosing the best JavaScript frameworks and libraries to learn. If you also face the same issue as a beginner, don’t worry. This guide will help you go through the Top 7 JavaScript frameworks and libraries.

So, let’s get started

1. React

ReactJS is the most famous JavaScript library, which Jordan Walke developed on Facebook. This library offers something different to front-end developers as it makes the core predictable and easy to debug. ReactJS provides an efficient way to create and use the dynamic UI of the website for higher incoming traffic.

It can also render on a server using the power mobile apps and Node by the React Native. Hence, React allows you to create fast, powerful, reactive, and user-friendly web apps. Many companies are switching to the React library because of its simplicity and ease of use.

React is used by various famous companies like Instagram, Uber, PayPal, and Airbnb. It means there will be more job opportunities for you after mastering ReactJS completely.

2. Angular

AngularJS is a robust JavaScript framework that was developed in 2010. After the development of React, many users found Angular was not as compatible as React. That’s why Google redesigned Angular as an entirely different SPA framework in 2016. Despite having similar names, there is a difference between Angular and AngularJS because they serve completely different functionalities.

Developers can create progressive web pages as Angular offers dependency injections for data service assembly. Angular also supports an extensive ecosystem that includes four different data libraries.

Angular also offers an end-to-end framework with complete support for users to create enterprise-grade web applications. Angular proves its value to those who want to focus on the UI and user experience. Therefore, it is good to learn Angular is ideal for developing single page-fast performing applications.

3. Vue.js

Vue.js is an open-source JavaScript framework developed for improving the features of the front-end frameworks such as React and Angular. This framework includes Virtual DOM like React and two-way binding like Angular.

Vue.js has a flexible architecture to focus on component composition and declarative rendering. It has an integration mode feature by which developers can efficiently create SPAs and PWAs. This framework allows developers to extend HTML through HTML attributes, known as the directive. Directives provide good functionality for HTML applications, and these directives can be user-defined or built-in.

Vue.js is undoubtedly best for beginners because of the simple documentation and easy-to-learn factors. Websites like Adobe, Upwork, and Grammarly are built on Vue.js. Moreover, many start-ups prefer to use Vue.js over any other JavaScript framework.

4. Express

Express, also known as Express.js, is an open-source backend JavaScript framework based on Node.js. It is a fast, and minimal JavaScript framework developers can use to build complex APIs and web apps. Express has gained immense popularity in a few years, becoming the prime choice while using MEAN Stack.

It offers a great mechanism to integrate view engines for developing responses through writing handles for the HTTP request, creating templates, or adding a middleware at any point in a pipeline. Express also allows developers to create server-side web apps that are faster and more intelligent.

Companies like Uber, MuleSoft, Accenture, Myntra, and PayPal use Express.js in web development. Hence, learning Express.js is highly recommended as it is an easy-to-learn JavaScript framework.

5. jQuery

jQuery is a famous and one of the oldest JavaScript web frameworks as it has been available from last more than twelve years. jQuery is an open-source JavaScript library developed in 2006 to simplify the interaction with DOM. Developers can also navigate the DOM tree through jQuery’s fantastic feature.

jQuery has cross-platform support that intends to simplify the client-side HTML scripting. Despite its popularity, we can’t compare it with modern frameworks because they have advanced features. However, jQuery is one of the most useful JS libraries for developing simple and large web applications.

Currently, over nineteen million websites have a jQuery framework. Brands like JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, IBM, Facebook, Udemy, Twitter, Google, etc., rely on jQuery to offer a fantastic browsing experience.

6. Ember.js

Ember.js is an open-source JavaScript web framework that allows developers to create web apps with fantastic UI having cross-platform support. It is based on the Model and View pattern and comes with rich features to develop scalable single-page web apps. Initially, Ember.js was developed in 2012 by Apple’s Yehuda Katz, but it was officially available for everyone in 2015.

Additionally, Ember.js comes with the CLI tool that allows developers to perform quick prototyping and manage dependencies. This JavaScript framework architecture has multiple features to develop client-side apps. Brands like Netflix, Nordstrom, DigitalOcean, Square, LinkedIn, and Accenture use the Ember.js framework. It is good to learn the Ember.js framework because it combines ember-data and CLI, making it easier to work with Ember.

7. D3.js

Data-Driven Documents or D3.js is the last JavaScript library of this list that is used to visualize the data. Despite being developed in 2011 from an old project, “Protovis,” under the BSD license, D3.js is the best to develop web apps from CSS, HTML, and SVG. D3.js is a simple library that offers prominent features to create custom visualizations. Therefore, if you want to gain a skill in the visualization field, then D3.js is for you. Like jQuery, D3.js also has a robust set of APIs which use the selectors. Once the developers select the DOM element, they can perform different manipulation and transitions.

Moreover, D3.js is used to develop animated transitions, perform CSS3 transitions, and sequence complex transitions by events. Although D3.js is an old JavaScript library, it is highly recommended for learners who want to learn JavaScript and web development.

Final Thoughts

JavaScript is a fantastic programming language and comes with many frameworks and libraries. Hence, it is good to learn different frameworks to be a skilled web developer. That’s why we picked the most popular frameworks and libraries which you can learn to develop unique web apps. These JavaScript frameworks will also play an essential role while getting a job.
