Pandas Index is an immutable ndarray implementing an ordered, sliceable set. It is the basic object which stores the axis labels for all pandas objects. Pandas

Index.data

attribute return the data pointer of the underlying data of the given Index object.

Syntax: Index.data Parameter : None Returns : memory address

Example #1:

Use

Index.data

attribute to find the memory address of the underlying data of the given Index object.

Python3
# importing pandas as pd import pandas as pd # Creating the index idx = pd.Index(['Jan', 'Feb', 'Mar', 'Apr', 'May']) # Print the index print(idx)

Output :

Index(['Jan', 'Feb', 'Mar', 'Apr', 'May'], dtype='object')

Now we will use

Index.data

attribute to find the memory address of the underlying data of the given series object.

Python3
# return memory address result = idx.data # Print the result print(result)

Output :

object

As we can see in the output, the

Index.data

attribute has successfully returned the data pointer of the underlying data of the given Index object.

Example #2 :

Use

Index.data

attribute to find the memory address of the underlying data of the given Index object.

Python3
# importing pandas as pd import pandas as pd # Creating the index idx = pd.Index([100, 200, 142, 88, 124]) # Print the index print(idx)

Output :

Int64Index([100, 200, 142, 88, 124], dtype='int64')

Now we will use

Index.data

attribute to find the memory address of the underlying data of the given series object.

Python3
# return memory address result = idx.data # Print the result print(result)

Output :

Int64

As we can see in the output, the

Index.data

attribute has successfully returned the data pointer of the underlying data of the given Index object.
