In a major crackdown, security forces recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition from the outskirts of five valley districts in Manipur during coordinated operations conducted on the night of June 13–14.

Based on specific intelligence inputs, joint teams comprising the Manipur Police, Army, Assam Rifles, BSF, CRPF, and ITBP launched simultaneous search operations in Imphal West, Imphal East, Thoubal, Bishnupur, and Kakching districts.
A total of 328 firearms were seized, including 151 Self-Loading Rifles (SLRs), 65 INSAS rifles, 73 other rifles, 12 Light Machine Guns, six AK-series rifles, five carbines, and six pistols, along with other warlike stores.

The teams also recovered approximately 9,300 rounds of various types of ammunition. Officials termed the operation one of the most successful in recent months in the conflict-hit state.
The recoveries are a significant blow to armed groups in the region and mark a step forward in restoring normalcy and public security.
