Reverse with Me 1x05 “Episode 5”

SPOILER ALERT

I don’t know much about Thai dramas but E05 was subpar.

  1. Why did she have to cover her ears? CCTVs don’t have sounds, and monitoring rooms don’t have speakers since CCTVs don’t have sounds.

  2. Where were the security? Why did they suddenly disappeared?

  3. How was it that the security personnel simply accepted her request? They didn’t even ask her how she knew.

  4. Speaking of how she knew, the Thai police didn’t ask either. Do they believe reports that easily?

  5. When the suspect arrived, it was 22:15. When she walked to the car, obviously it was after 22:15. But when they showed the 2FL watching the encounter, the CCTV showed 22:05. If fe consider the time for her to change clothes and walk there, it would mean the suspect arrived on or before 22:00; and she did not time travel. Even if she did, how can the suspect arrive earlier? She can’t change his arrival time unless she changed it herself.

  6. And where were the security? They let their doctor face a criminal? You would think the reason they left the monitoring room was to accompany the doctor, but they were nowhere to be seen.

  7. The suspect forgot to clean the murder scene? He’s a detective. Even if he’s not in his right mind, he’s not one to make such an obvious mistake, even amateur criminals, or kids who accidentally killed someone, react with cleaning the scene and destroying evidence. And he, a detective forgot it?

  8. Accident scene. When the detective arrived, the police stopped him from seeing the bodies, but they let him in when he said they’re his family. (1) He’s a detective, they won’t let him do his job? (2) When he said they’re his family, that’s when you stop them even if they’re a detective!

  9. Still on the accident scene. The acting and dialogues (at least based on the translation) were poor.

  10. The hospital scene with the kids. They should’ve hired child actors, or at least those training to be one. It was obvious those were the kids of their crew members. The twins, for example, kept looking on the camera and the crew.

  11. The rooftop scene. That was totally not needed for this episode. The theme of this episode was the criminal. Developing the 2nd couple in this episode made them fillers. And it was so long. And the scene angles and shots were really bad too. They should’ve chosen a garden or a café or some random tree, maybe even their resting rooms. If they want to show Thailand’s skyline, they should’ve done that a lot. But all they did was an upward angle because they were trying to avoid including the support crew in the scene. :type_4:

  12. The main couple. Why are they avoiding kissing each other and do the nose thing instead? Is a light kiss on the lips or cheeks too much? Yet they were fine with a hot, steamy, lips-to-lips action? So contradictory.

  13. Bathroom scene. It was a missed opportunity. 1FL should’ve hugged 2FL from behind. Why did they have to do something like they were taking a photo together from a booth or park? They slept together the night before, and she can’t even hug her? It doesn’t make sense especially since they established they were the only ones there.

They were doing great until E05. It’s as if they changed director and writer. E01 to E04 were awesome. E05 super meeh in production and editing.

The only scene I had fun was the elevator scene. The nurse did well in making it very funny, with all her expressions and actions.

The Gorge (2025)

★★★★★★★★★☆

Story: 9 A gorge shrouded in mystery At first it appears as a typical adventure or action story but as the film progress, it is slowly revealed to be about a place shrouded in mystery. The flow kept the audience guessing but only to find out it’s totally something unexpected.

Visuals: 9 It gave me the feels of Guild Wars 2 and World of Warcraft It was awesome. I kept wondering where the location was, if it even exists. The special effects and design, most especially at the critical part of the story, were beautifully done. As a gamer, it gave me a sense of the places from Guild Wars 2 and World of Warcraft.

Sound: 8 It was immersive The sound effects were great and perfectly timed. It helped in building the mystery and suspense. It was immersive.

Character: 8 Done perfectly The main characters were fit for the story. Ordinary people, or snipers, who only wanted to survive and serve their country. People with special skills but at the end of the day, are no different than everyone else. The character backgrounds were not lacking nor it took too much time, and the rest of the character development brought out the basic need of human beings.

Enjoyment: 10 Kept me on my seat I truly enjoyed watching this movie. Being able to bring me into the story, ensuring I don’t spend time analyzing the plot, was an experience I rarely have these days. This movie was did that and kept me on my seat.

Don’t get confused, «Melo Movie» is a 10-episode series about love from romance to family to friendships, and yes, even break-ups and moving on.

If you’re thinking it’s just another typical melo story, well, you’re wrong. It tackles a lot of topics about love and life, and how different people handle the challenges the world throws at us. It can either remind us of how good it is to feel loved and to love someone, or give us new lessons we haven’t gone through that we can use one day.

Or, maybe, it’s just me because I was able to relate to many of the plots that I’ve been through one way or another. From a parent-children relationship to how not ending a relationship properly can stop us getting back on our feet.

I give it 1000 over 10 stars.

E12 of the «The Midnight Romance In Hagwon» or «졸업» (lit. Graduate) tackled how to approach learning Literature and it is by entering the mind, life, situation, society, & time of the author.

I approach things the same way, hence, I see the beauty of novels & TV drama where few others did (and hence they rate them very low).

But E12 also reminded me that the reason I think this way was because of my teachers in Filipino and English literature. I’m Gen Xennial, or an early 80s baby, I could say we were blessed to have such teachers who taught us properly and imparted skills that can actually help us in our life instead of simply telling us to memorize this and that to pass the exams.

To our teachers, thank you. :bow_tone3: You taught us exactly what E12 of The Midnight Romance in Hagwon 졸업 was all about. It is a precious gift that I am still using today even at work.

What a ride. The finale season was amazing. I only wish they did a fan service by reconnecting this world back to Arrowverse Prime. Something like their previous memories were returned because one of the characters from Prime found them in this universe, and it took them that long because they avoided travelling through the multiverse. It would’ve been a good fan service and a bonus touch for S&L.

Family Matters

★★★★★★★★☆☆

SPOILER ALERT

Great acting and a good story.

Spoilers from hereon: Ending Explained.

Scene A: Child Wife controlled child husband. Scene B: Mom told Wife that it was her plan all along.

= Child Wife and Mom schemed everything, and Child Wife told Mom she has to erase her own memories so their plan will work. Once the plan comes to fruition, she will regain the memories.

Scene 3: Child number 11 was controlled by the child wife to do exactly, well, the plan.

Conclusion: Since they were kids, child wife controlled everything.

a. Child husband cutting the ear of Number 11. Both guys were already under her control, they were testing how long her control could stay intact. b. Her husband’s father was no doubt under her control as well. This way, after the child’s wife erases her memories, the “escape plan” will work without a hitch. c. The rest is history.

Goal, or rather goals: 1. Create a real family bond. It’s the reverse of terrorism and secret agent trainings where cells only have a fake family bond. Their plan was to create a real bond that no one can ever find a loophole. In other words, the perfect [sleeping] cell and operatives. 2. Teach them self-control. A wild agent is useless if they don’t learn self-control. All of them need it, including the two kids. Noticed how it always revolved around self-control? 3. Test the wife’s power. Her power isn’t only about creating a false memory/experience, it’s mind control. Can the victims resist? Her husband did not. Number 11 did not. Her self-mind control also worked so well. 4. Train the kids. They are far stronger than her and her husband, and thus far more dangerous if they don’t have a family bond. This was proven with the female twin. Without a family bond, she was a ticking bomb. 5. Prove that the wife’s plan “Family Matters” is actually worth it. Which, by now, we know it was worth it.

I’ll Become a Villainess Who Goes Down in History

★★★★★★★★☆☆

Accidentally came across this and watched it all. It’s light, funny, yet with a good plot. It’s rare to find a show (anime or live-action) like this these days, 30-minute episodes with 13 episodes only, yet the pacing is right and episodes were not dragged.

I hope there will be a S02 and they’ll keep the same production quality and writing.
