So, myself, David and Conor played a few hours of Bad Company 2 tonight. We’re all low ranking players but getting to know the game better as we play. Anthony shows off his Modern Warfare 2 classes. I’ve played with him a few times and he always rips through the enemy so I was particularly interested in this. I notice he has completely different perks to me, but I bet he’d still be a better player even when using mine. I haven’t used steady aim since I got my headset as my footsteps were so loud but maybe it’s time to revisit perk 3 again.

While rushing in Bad Company 2 hit the “activate M-COM button” (B on Xbox, O on PS3 isn’t it?) before you get to the bomb. As soon as you’re in range the bomb will start to arm! You’ll also avoid picking up the kits of those killed next to the bomb, happened to me loads of times. (via)

Once on Xbox 360 and again on the Playstation 3 When you start off as a raw recruit all you’ll have is your main and secondary weapon, a grenade and a knife. That’s all. Dubai, world's hottest property
I’m an avid fan of the National Geographic and while sorting through my dead tree archive yesterday spotted this issue from 2007 when property in Dubai was described as “the world’s hottest”. It certainly is now. It’s untouchable. A reminder of an age gone by. I also have an issue of National Georaphic from December 1954 which deserves a post of it’s own at some time in the future.

The WD TV media player arrived this morning! Much sooner than expected the postman delivered a box from Amazon containing the WD TV “HD Media Player” and a 16GB Cruzer flash drive from Sandisk. The media player works as advertised and played all the movies I through at it. The Cruzer USB flash drive is unfortunately quite slow at writes (about 3MB/sec) but is perfectly adequate for streaming movie files from it. The Playstation 3 has been rescued, but video quality is dire through the shipped composite cable. I don’t have a HDMI socket on my monitor, so I can’t […]
